Baghdad: Minister of Education Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri met with Turkish Ambassador Anil Bora Inan to discuss joint educational cooperation and mechanisms for improving Iraqi schools in Turkey.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting included key officials such as Technical Undersecretary Hussein Sabri al-Lami, Scientific Undersecretary Mahdi al-Awadi, Director General of Cultural Relations Majid al-Shammari, and the Minister’s Office Director Hafiz al-Halbousi. The discussions focused on joint educational cooperation, specifically concerning Iraqi schools in Turkey.

The dialogue between both parties centered on the procedures for opening two Iraqi schools in Istanbul and Ankara. The discussions also covered the administrative and organizational requirements essential for the success of this initiative, which aims to broaden educational opportunities for Iraqi children residing in Turkey.

Minister al-Jubouri highlighted Iraq’s policy of fostering openness and building constructive relations with neighboring countries, particularly Turkey. He advocated for streamlined processes for the supervisory committee, especially regarding residency and entry visas. The Turkish representatives expressed their willingness to address the necessary requirements and resolve any challenges faced by the committee.
