Minister of Environment and Karbala Governor Advocate for Institutional Integration to Tackle Environmental Issues

Karbala: The Minister of Environment Sarwa Abdulwahid and Karbala Governor Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional integration to address environmental issues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Environment stated in a press release: “To enhance integration between federal and local institutions, the Ministry of Environment continues its coordination with the local government in Karbala to unify efforts on priority environmental issues and support the work of relevant departments in a way that contributes to addressing challenges and improving the environmental situation in the governorate.”

Abdulwahid stressed that the success of environmental work depends on effective coordination among relevant authorities and the integration of their responsibilities. She noted the Ministry’s continued support for its environmental departments in the governorates, enabling them to implement their tasks and plans, and to follow up on environmental issues according to government priorities, legislation, and approved standards.

For his part, the Governor of Karbala praised the Ministry of Environment’s support and follow-up on environmental issues in the governorate, emphasizing the importance of continued joint coordination and integrated efforts to implement environmental programs and strengthen the necessary measures to address challenges and improve the environmental situation in Karbala.
