Baghdad: Minister of Environment Sarwa Abdul Wahid participated in the celebration held by the French Embassy in Baghdad on the occasion of French National Day, at the invitation of the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, and in the presence of a number of senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and other dignitaries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Minister affirmed that Iraqi-French relations are witnessing continuous development, noting the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the environmental and developmental fields, to contribute to exchanging expertise and supporting joint efforts to address climate change challenges, protect the environment, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Minister of Environment also extended her congratulations to the government and people of France on the occasion of their National Day, wishing France continued progress and prosperity, and emphasizing Iraq's keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation and partnership with friendly countries in a way that serves mutual interests.
