Stockholm: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari engaged in discussions today with Swedish Minister of Immigration Johan Forschel regarding the conditions and needs of the Iraqi community residing in Sweden.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, attended by officials from both the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and the Swedish side, focused on topics of mutual interest aimed at enhancing cooperation between Iraq and Sweden. Key areas of discussion included immigration, residency, and the sharing of expertise between the two nations.

Minister Al-Shammari emphasized the Iraqi government’s commitment to supporting Iraqi communities abroad, ensuring they have favorable conditions and addressing challenges they encounter to maintain their ties to Iraq.

Swedish Minister of Migration Johan Forschel expressed appreciation for the visit, commending the Iraqi government’s efforts in managing migration and fostering bilateral cooperation.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain ongoing communication and coordination between the ministries to benefit both countries and their communities.
