Tehran: The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, engaged in discussions today in Tehran focused on expanding scientific, academic, and police cooperation between Iraq and Iran.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions took place during Al-Shammari’s visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, where he and his delegation visited Al-Amin Comprehensive University for Police Sciences. The visit coincided with the opening ceremony of the academic year at the university, which welcomed its first batch of Iraqi students. A total of 68 officers from various formations and classes of Iraq’s internal security forces have enrolled.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Interior’s statement revealed that 124 seats have been allocated for Iraqi students to pursue a master’s degree in security sciences at the university. The program covers various disciplines, including border security techniques, cyberspace security, police management leadership, border guard fortifications, and traffic operations management

During his visit, Al-Shammari emphasized the importance of opening new avenues for scientific and academic police cooperation between Iraq and Iran. Al-Amin Comprehensive University is recognized for its strong credentials in all security-related fields, making it a significant partner in these efforts.
