Baghdad: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari praised the effective role of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and the press family, and their efforts in establishing and strengthening the foundations of democracy and adopting a purposeful media discourse that enhances security and stability in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Journalists Syndicate said in a statement that “Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari received the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, stressing the Ministry’s and its agencies’ readiness to support the press family and provide a safe environment for their media work.”

For his part, the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate praised the distinguished efforts made by the Minister of Interior and his field follow-up of the work of the Ministry and its departments in Baghdad and the governorates.

Al-Lami emphasized that these distinguished efforts have contributed to reducing incidents that threaten the security and stability of society.
