Baghdad: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari emphasized the significance of bolstering the friendship between Iraq and Italy, focusing particularly on security collaboration, capacity building, and the ongoing training of federal police forces by the Carabinieri.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Interior revealed that Al-Shammari met with the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Nicolo Fontana, at his office. During their meeting, they explored several topics of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of enhancing the friendship between the two nations.

The Italian Ambassador expressed his country's eagerness to advance bilateral relations and commended the Iraqi security services for their current efforts, noting the progress in their performance.
