Baghdad: The Presidency of the Republic denied what was circulated in the media regarding a statement by a member of the House of Representatives stating that the Presidency of the Republic had issued a special pardon for an Arab citizen. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency confirmed that President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, has not issued any special pardon for an Arab or foreign citizen since assuming his duties in October 2022 until now. The Presidency also clarified that the numbers mentioned by the representative regarding decrees Nos. 58 and 64 have absolutely nothing to do with issuing a special pardon.
