Baghdad: The Minister of Oil has confirmed the availability of petroleum products and liquefied gas to meet local consumption needs. Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayyan Abdul Ghani, emphasized the availability of these resources through local production at Iraqi refineries and national companies, supported by ample reserves.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Oil released a statement indicating that the Minister chaired a meeting to discuss global market conditions, crude oil prices, and the pricing of Iraqi crude oil in light of the current security situation in the region. The Minister highlighted that the Ministry is adhering to a strategic plan tailored for the present circumstances. He explained that Iraqi refineries are operating at their designed capacities to secure petroleum products such as gasoline, kerosene, white oil, and other derivatives for domestic use and electricity generation. Additionally, there is a stable supply of liquefied gas produced by national companies.
The Ministry's statement also detailed that the meeting was attended by key figures, including the Undersecretaries of the Ministry for the Extraction, Gas, and Refining sectors, as well as the directors general of various departments such as the Oil Marketing Company and the Basra Oil Company. The discussions focused on the supply and demand conditions in global markets and the impact of the Strait of Hormuz closure on price levels and oil supplies.
