Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, Mohammed Ali Tamim, engaged with a delegation from the US-Iraq Business Council to discuss investment opportunities in Iraq across multiple sectors. A statement from the Ministry of Planning highlighted the meeting, which included participation from businessmen, investors, and representatives of American companies.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Minister outlined potential investment areas in Iraq, focusing on sectors such as energy, housing, communications, tourism and hospitality, agriculture and water resources, infrastructure, and the localization of the pharmaceutical industry. The discussion also covered investments related to climate change.
The Minister urged American companies to capitalize on the available investments, presenting themselves as strong contenders against other international firms eager to invest in Iraq. He emphasized the benefits offered by the Iraqi investment law and government support for investment initiatives.
The delegation members expressed their genuine interest in investing in Iraq, highlighting the capabilities of American companies to operate and invest using advanced methods in education, housing, the pharmaceutical industry, and other development and investment sectors.
