Baghdad: Minister of Trade Atheer Dawood Al-Ghariri discussed strengthening joint economic and trade cooperation with the non-resident Ethiopian Ambassador. The Ministry of Trade said in a statement, “Al-Ghariri received today, Tuesday, in his office the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Ethiopia to Iraq, Saeed Mohamed Jibril, and his accompanying delegation.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation, joint work, and consolidating bilateral relations between Iraq and Ethiopia. Discussions included the potential for Ethiopian products to enter the Iraqi market through participation in the Baghdad International Fair and the organization of specialized exhibitions to promote Ethiopian goods. The talks also covered the possibility of signing a bilateral economic and trade agreement and forming joint committees to benefit both countries.
The Minister emphasized the importance of developing actionable plans, assuring the Ministry of Trade’s full support and necessary facilities for the Ethiopian side. Meanwhile, the Ethiopian Ambassador expressed appreciation for the Ministry’s efforts and conveyed Ethiopia’s interest in boosting economic and trade ties with Iraq.
