Minister of Transport Clarifies Issues Surrounding Development Road Project in Turkey

Baghdad: Minister of Transport Wahab al-Husseini issued an official statement clarifying the events that transpired in Turkey yesterday, while also indicating that work is underway to implement the Development Road project.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Husseini explained that technical and protocol-related issues arose in determining the optimal format for signing the memorandum of understanding concerning the Development Road project with Turkey. This led to a wave of interpretations and fabrications. He urged media outlets to exercise accuracy in reporting, obtain information from its original sources, and verify it, emphasizing that "the Ministry will exercise its legal right against those who have defamed it."

Al-Husseini further elaborated, "For our part, we were prepared and ready, having completed all necessary amendments and official communications. We expressed our desire to conclude the memorandum of understanding due to its importance to our country. Ultimately, our efforts to sign it were successful, and the framework memorandum of understanding for the strategic Development Road project was signed yesterday."

He emphasized that "everyone knows our firm national stance on all projects that serve Iraq and the Iraqi people, and there is no need for political posturing. We are working to implement this project according to a national vision that does not marginalize Iraq in such important strategic projects."
