Minister of Transport Visits Basra to Discuss Maritime Sector Development

Basra: The Minister of Transport, Wahab al-Hassani, inspected the General Company for Maritime Transport in Basra Governorate to discuss the development of the sector in the region. The visit took place on Sunday, with Minister al-Hassani being accompanied by Khalaf al-Badran, the head of the provincial council, Abu Turab al-Tamimi, the governorate's representative in parliament, and several directors general from the ministry.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the General Company for Maritime Transport stated that the visit was part of ongoing efforts to monitor the company's operations and projects. Discussions were held to explore ways to develop the maritime transport sector, aiming to enhance its role in supporting the national economy. This initiative is expected to contribute to improved service levels and bolster institutional performance.

Minister al-Hassani arrived in Basra Governorate earlier that morning to oversee the ministry's projects in the region. The visit underscores the government's commitment to advancing the maritime transport sector, which is seen as vital for economic growth and development in the governorate.
