Libya: The Zawiya Oil Refining Company reported that a drone crashed into an untreated naphtha tank at the Zawiya refinery, resulting in a leak due to the drone exploding upon impact with the tank wall.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company issued a statement confirming that the situation was brought under control, and the leak was successfully stopped. Remarkably, there were no fires or injuries reported at the site following the incident.
The company has urged all involved parties to ensure that its facilities remain clear of conflict and armed activities, highlighting the critical importance and sensitivity of the refinery, its operations, and its equipment.
Furthermore, the company stressed that the safety of its employees and facilities, along with the continuity of production operations, are of utmost importance. It called on all responsible parties to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of the company's facilities and personnel, and to address any threats to the security and safety of the refinery and its surrounding areas.
