Baghdad: The Minister of Water Resources Muthanna al-Tamimi chaired an expanded meeting at the General Authority for Dams and Reservoirs to discuss the framework agreement with Turkey and strategic project plans. The meeting included members of Parliament from the Agriculture, Water, Marshes, and Environment Committee, as well as the Ministry's Technical Undersecretary and Directors General from various departments within the Ministry.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on several strategic issues related to the water resources sector. Key among these was the discussion of the articles of the framework agreement signed between the Republic of Iraq and the Republic of Turkey. This agreement pertains to cooperation on water issues, and the meeting reviewed the prominent projects planned for implementation under this agreement.
Additionally, the meeting covered discussions on the Ministry's operational and investment budget. The attendees assessed the status of dam and reservoir projects, which are crucial for the country's water management and infrastructure development.
