Ministry of Agriculture Emphasizes Collaboration with FAO


Baghdad:The Ministry of Agriculture has highlighted its dedication to enhancing its partnership and cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry organized a special ceremony for a project aimed at improving farm management and aggregation models in Iraq. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the FAO, is funded by the World Bank.



During the ceremony, Minister of Agriculture Abdul-Rahim Jasim Al-Shammari underscored the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening ties with the FAO. He stated that the partnership plays a crucial role in supporting Iraq’s agricultural sector by increasing production, developing essential projects, and promoting sustainable agricultural development.



The event outlined the project’s goals and plans, focusing on enhancing farm management, creating aggregation models, and supporting producers. Attendees included high-level officials from the Ministry, the FAO representative, the World Bank Group Country Manager for Iraq, and representatives from farmers’ associations, among others.
