New York:UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres has urged the United States and Iran to resolve their differences through negotiations, following a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. During the discussion, Guterres and Araghchi exchanged views on the regional conflict.

Guterres’s office stated that the Secretary-General welcomed the diplomatic efforts made during the high-level general debate week of the General Assembly. He encouraged both parties to maintain these efforts and work towards resolving their disputes to achieve peace.
