Baghdad: The Ministry of Agriculture actively took part in a crucial meeting organized by the National Center for Joint Planning, under the auspices of the National Security Advisory. The meeting was chaired by the Director General of the Center and included participation from representatives of both security and civilian ministries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Sumaya Talib Yousef represented the Ministry of Agriculture. She is a member of the Permanent Secretariat for Developing the Readiness of CBRN Teams and the High-Level Technical Team. The meeting focused on three main topics: strategies to mitigate the accumulation of hazardous waste, enhancement of treatments for chemical, biological, and war remnants, and efforts to reduce plastic pollution.

These discussions are part of a broader initiative to enhance environmental and public health protection. The aim is to elevate environmental and biological safety standards while considering the economic, social, and health dimensions of hazardous waste management.
