Baghdad: The Ministry of Defense announced today that it has received eight American Bell 505 aircraft as part of the second batch of deliveries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated that this acquisition is in line with directives from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. The aim is to support and enhance the capabilities of the Iraqi Armed Forces across all branches. The Martyr Brigadier General Mohammed Alaa Air Base is the recipient of this second batch, which includes eight modern aircraft.
The statement further explained that this delivery is part of the Ministry of Defense’s plan to modernize military aviation systems. The initiative seeks to elevate the efficiency of air training and improve combat capabilities, aligning with the operational requirements of Iraqi army pilots.
