Baghdad: The Ministry of Education, through its General Directorate of Curricula, has engaged in discussions with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) regarding the mechanisms for implementing the National Testing Project. This initiative is a key component of the government program and is carried out in collaboration with UNICEF, with financial backing from the European Union. The project is aligned with the Ministry’s efforts to enhance achievement measurement tools and improve the quality of educational outcomes, under the leadership of Minister of Education Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Education stated that the meeting was chaired by the Director General of Curricula and included the participation of curriculum department directors, representatives from UNICEF, and the General Directorate of Cultural Relations. The discussions were centered on the project’s implementation strategies, frameworks for technical cooperation, and support for curriculum development plans. The meeting also provided a platform for exchanging visions and experiences to establish robust standards for measuring student achievement and skills. Additionally, it aimed to develop educational standards in alignment with the latest global practices, with the ultimate goal of achieving a qualitative leap in the Iraqi education system.
