Ministry of Electricity Implements Fingerprint System to Combat Fictitious Names

Baghdad: The Ministry of Electricity announced on Sunday that it has initiated a series of administrative measures to implement a comprehensive project to unify and link the fingerprint attendance system with the payroll and personnel system. The ministry revealed that salaries had been paid to fictitious names.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry directed the Baghdad Electricity Distribution Company, in coordination with the administrative department at the ministry headquarters, to implement a project aimed at unifying and linking the fingerprint attendance system with the company’s payroll and personnel system. This initiative will be carried out across all departments of the ministry following specific principles.

The first principle involves establishing a unified and secure central database for the attendance and departure system. Secondly, modern fingerprint devices will be deployed at all work sites and linked directly to the central database. Third, the fingerprint system will be automatically linked with the payroll system. Lastly, no financial entitlements will be disbursed without a documented attendance record within the system.
