Baghdad: The Ministry of Environment participated in the Iraqi Youth Summit 2026, with Dr. Raghad Asaad Al-Obaidi, Acting Technical Undersecretary, representing the ministry. The summit was organized under the auspices of the “Together for the Protection of Humanity and the Environment” Association and saw participation from government institutions, the private sector, international and local organizations, academic bodies, and experts.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Al-Obaidi highlighted the crucial role of Iraqi youth in tackling environmental and climate challenges. She emphasized the need to empower young people with knowledge, technology, and innovation, which would enhance their involvement in initiatives and projects that support sustainable development and the green economy.
Dr. Al-Obaidi further stressed that addressing environmental and climate issues requires a collaborative effort from the government, society, private sector, and organizations. She underscored that youth are a fundamental pillar in this partnership and play an essential role in building a more sustainable future for Iraq.
