Ministry of Finance Ensures Stability in Financial Entitlements

Baghdad: The Ministry of Finance affirmed on Saturday that all financial entitlements are fully secured and that ongoing procedures aim to regulate financial operations and ensure sustainable funding. The ministry denied statements made by a Member of Parliament claiming that monthly salary expenses amount to 8.5 trillion dinars against revenues not exceeding 6 trillion, stressing that the actual monthly cost of salaries-including employees, retirees, and social protection beneficiaries-is 6 trillion dinars, which aligns with recorded revenues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry clarified that the 2 trillion dinars cited as a deficit are, in fact, part of the oil revenues allocated to finance the following month's salaries as part of the normal cash-flow cycle. It added that the payment date for retirees and social welfare beneficiaries was set on the second day of each month due to organizational procedures related to revenue transfers from oil exports and currency conversion, in addition to monthly holidays occurring at the start of the month.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to retirees, emphasizing that all financial entitlements are guaranteed and that funding remains stable and uninterrupted.
