Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commemorated its martyrs on Wednesday, in the presence of Minister Fuad Hussein and a number of senior ministry staff. Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stated in his address, “The targeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a car bomb was intended to undermine the work of the ministry, the state, and its representation before the world.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Foreign Minister highlighted that the number of martyrs in the ministry has reached 37, with a large number of wounded. The government has worked to rebuild the ministry and compensate the families of the martyrs and the wounded. He further emphasized the ministry’s collaborative efforts with many countries to undermine terrorism and dry up its sources of funding.
Minister Fuad Hussein expressed his gratitude to the friendly and brotherly countries that helped Iraq defeat ISIS and assist it in its recovery. He affirmed that the ministry will remain a steadfast national institution in defending Iraq and enhancing its standing among the nations of the world.
