Ministry of Health Issues Ten Essential Health Recommendations for Arba’een Pilgrims

Baghdad: The Ministry of Health has released a set of ten health and awareness recommendations aimed at safeguarding the well-being of visitors traveling to the holy city of Karbala for the Arba'een pilgrimage. These guidelines emphasize adherence to preventive measures, with a particular focus on the consumption of safe bottled water.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry's statement highlights that these recommendations are designed to ensure protection during the pilgrimage, especially during mourning rituals and while walking. Key advice includes the use of masks for those experiencing flu-like symptoms, consistent consumption of bottled water, and avoidance of open water sources.

The Ministry further advises pilgrims to carry necessary medications for chronic conditions, to regularly sanitize their hands, and to avoid crowded and enclosed spaces. Additional recommendations stress the importance of sun protection by utilizing umbrellas or hats and walking in shaded areas.

In case of any health symptoms, the Ministry urges visitors to seek medical attention promptly at the nearest medical facility. It also emphasizes the need for ensuring food safety by purchasing meals only from trusted vendors and maintaining hygiene by washing hands frequently, particularly before meals and after using restrooms.
