Samarra: The Ministry of Health has initiated a comprehensive health plan to support the influx of pilgrims traveling to Samarra to observe the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan al-Askari (peace be upon him). This initiative is being executed in collaboration with the Salah al-Din Health Department and involves an extensive deployment of medical resources to ensure the well-being of the attendees.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry’s plan includes the use of six mobile clinics and four ambulances strategically placed within Samarra. Additionally, the plan has provisions for six reserve ambulances and three more from local health sectors. These vehicles will be staffed with necessary medical, health, nursing, and support personnel, along with drivers, tailored to meet the demands of the pilgrimage.
The Ministry’s statement further elaborates on the logistical support, confirming that six medical vans and two ambulances from the Ministry of Health will be supplemented by 16 additional ambulances. This deployment will be bolstered by extra nursing staff, drivers, service personnel, and support staff to cater to the needs of the pilgrims. In total, 28 ambulances will be participating, with 10 specifically allocated for rapid response along the highways between Baghdad and Samarra, ensuring timely medical assistance during the pilgrimage.
