Ministry of Higher Education Collaborates with International Partners on Education Strategy


Baghdad:The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, alongside international partners, has engaged in discussions to develop education policies and strategic programs as part of the National Education Strategy (2022-2031). These discussions occurred during a regular meeting of the Education Sector Coordination Group.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad, the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs, and co-chaired by a representative from the European Union Delegation. Attendees included representatives from UNESCO, UNICEF, the World Bank, the British Council, and other international organizations, as well as officials from the Ministries of Planning, Education, and Labor and Social Affairs, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and the Advisory Commission.



The meeting, held at Al-Farahidi University, focused on regulatory frameworks, public policies, and strategic programs within the education sector. Participants analyzed the outcomes of the National Education Strategy and discussed mechanisms for its development, aiming to enhance coordination among national institutions and international partners in line with future priorities.



The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, through the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs, leads the Education Sector Coordination Group for a two-year term, with the goal of fostering cooperation between national entities and international partners to advance educational policies and programs.
