Baghdad: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the availability of comprehensive university placements for graduates of vocational studies across all specializations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry emphasized its support for technical and vocational education as a primary source of young talent for the labor market. The Ministry is working diligently in close coordination with the Ministries of Education and Labor and Social Affairs to achieve integration and enhance the outputs of this vital sector.

The admission criteria include accepting graduates of vocational secondary schools into universities and technical specializations, both public and private, corresponding to their fields of study. The Ministry noted that all technical specializations are available in public and private universities, offering suitable admission opportunities. This policy continues the Ministry’s approach from last year, allowing vocational graduates to enter technical specializations in public and private universities, a strategy set to persist in the coming years.

Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science (Technical and Academic) degree, equated to an academic degree regarding job grade, rights, and association membership. Technical colleges and institutes focus on practical training and laboratories for 65% of their curriculum, providing graduates with a distinct advantage in the job market and aligning with their professional preparation.

The Ministry affirmed its commitment to this policy as a strategic approach to protecting and optimally utilizing young talent.
