Basra: The Ministry of Higher Education has authorized the Dean of the College of Law at the University of Basra to manage the university’s affairs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has decided to transfer the powers of the President of the University of Basra, Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Hamad Ali, who is also the Dean of the College of Law at the University of Basra. He is set to manage the position of President of the University of Basra in addition to his current duties for a period of 60 days. This move comes as a replacement for Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim.

The Ministry’s decision includes the suspension of Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim from his role as President of the University of Basra for 60 days. The suspension was enacted as his continued presence was considered detrimental to the public service.
