Ministry of Interior Refutes Explosion Claims in Baghdad’s Al-Shama’iya Area


Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior has publicly refuted claims that an explosion occurred in the Al-Shama’iya area of Baghdad. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry clarified the situation through a statement issued by its official spokesperson, Colonel Mohammed Ali al-Hassoun.



“There is no truth to what is being circulated about an explosion in the Shama’iya area of Baghdad/al-Rusafa,” stated Colonel al-Hassoun. He further explained that the incident in question was not an explosion but a fire that broke out at an electrical substation. The fire, which was accompanied by a loud noise, is reported to have resulted in the death of one person and injuries to three others. The Ministry’s clarification aims to dispel any misinformation circulating regarding the incident.
