Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced that six citizens were injured and 27 suspects were arrested following a tribal dispute in Dhi Qar.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated that the conflict erupted in the Sayyid Dakhil district, located east of Dhi Qar Governorate. The altercation led to injuries among six individuals, including participants from both sides and bystanders. Additionally, a guest house and a vehicle were set on fire during the incident.
A joint force from the Dhi Qar Police Command was deployed to contain the situation. However, the force encountered gunfire from both factions involved in the dispute, prompting a forceful response from the police. A subsequent security operation in the area resulted in the arrest of 27 suspects and the seizure of a Kalashnikov rifle along with various ammunition types. The arrested individuals have been transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
