Najaf: The Ministry of Interior announced the martyrdom of an officer and an affiliate during the arrest of a person involved in burning car accidents in Najaf. It said that within the framework of the ongoing efforts to maintain security in Najaf Governorate, accurate information was received indicating that there was a person involved in burning car accidents of citizens in the northern neighborhoods of the governorate. Immediately, a working team was formed, consisting of officers and members of Al-Nasr Police Department. After collecting information and careful investigation through security sources and setting up the necessary ambushes, the suspect was identified and during pursuiting him by police patrols, he was arrested and handed over to justice to receive his just punishment according to the law.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this operation resulted in the martyrdom of Major Marwan Taklif Jassim and the policeman on a contract basis Rahim Hatem Rahim, in addition to the injury of a lieutenant and another policeman. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that it is continuing its work and taking revenge on anyone who dares to tamper with the security of citizens.
