Baghdad: The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced on Sunday the successful completion of distributing food baskets to 7 million individuals who benefit from social protection programs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Social Protection Authority within the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs finalized the process of distributing food baskets to approximately 7 million beneficiaries. This followed a thorough auditing and updating of beneficiary data, which was then electronically submitted to the Ministry of Trade for implementation.

Ahmed Al-Moussawi, the head of the Authority, confirmed that the procedures were conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade to ensure that the items included in the food baskets were secured for those under social protection. This initiative aims to support beneficiary families by addressing their essential food requirements.

Al-Moussawi emphasized that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to bolster the assistance provided to families within the social protection framework. The initiative underscores the importance of coordinated efforts between the Social Protection Authority and the Ministry of Trade in enhancing the support system for vulnerable families.
