Basra: The Ministry of Oil has announced its success in achieving self-sufficiency in liquefied gas, alongside exporting the surplus to international markets.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry emphasized the significant support provided by the government to private sector and investment projects within the liquefied gas industry. During a visit to the Middle East Factory for the manufacture of liquefied gas cylinders, Izzat Saber Ismail, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, highlighted the vital role of investment projects in the advancement of national industry. He underscored the importance of backing projects focused on manufacturing iron and plastic cylinders that adhere to international standards.

Ismail also discussed the need for effective strategies in marketing and local consumption, which are to be developed in collaboration with the Gas Filling and Services Company. This approach aims to align the objectives of both the ministry and investment initiatives. The ministry’s daily production has exceeded eight thousand tons, and there are ongoing plans to increase the use of liquefied gas instead of various liquid fuels. These efforts are supported through continuous investment in industrial and service projects.
