Baghdad: A meeting at the Ministry of Oil is following up on the latest developments regarding the Faw oil storage project. A meeting at the Ministry of Oil discussed the latest developments in the Faw Oil Storage Project.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Naseer Aziz, chaired a technical meeting to follow up on the latest developments in the Faw Oil Storage Project. The meeting was attended by the Directors General of the Internal Audit Department and the Economic Department, as well as representatives from the Studies, Planning, and Follow-up Department, and the Basra Oil Company and the Oil Projects Company.

Aziz emphasized that the Ministry is working to expedite the implementation of the accelerated partial operation phase of the project, in order to utilize available resources and contribute to enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of the storage and export system.

The Undersecretary directed the Basra Oil Company and the Oil Projects Company to prepare and submit detailed and urgent work schedules, each according to its area of responsibility, including the required tasks and works, estimated costs, and timeframes for implementation. This aims to determine the financial requirements and work to secure them as quickly as possible, and to address any obstacles that may arise during the implementation phases.

Aziz stressed the need to intensify efforts and enhance coordination among relevant parties, and to adhere to the established timelines for completing the work, noting that developing storage facilities is a cornerstone in supporting production plans and boosting export capacities.
