Baiji: The Ministry of Oil confirmed that production activities at Al-Sumoud refinery in Baiji are continuing and have not stopped. The ministry clarified in a statement: “The refinery has not been exposed to any accidents due to the fall of strange objects inside or around it.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry added: “Coordination is ongoing with security authorities regarding the protection of oil facilities.” The ministry praised the significant efforts of the security forces in ensuring a safe working environment.

A security source announced earlier this morning that air defenses intercepted a drone that attempted to approach Baiji refinery, forcing it to withdraw through Makhoul Mountains.
