Baghdad: The Ministry of Planning discussed with international organizations the latest developments in the Building a Just and Inclusive Transformation (BEIT) project.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Planning’s Steering Committee for the BEIT Project held its second meeting, engaging with representatives from the United Nations Human Settlements Program, the International Labor Organization, and the International Trade Center. The focus of the meeting was to discuss the ongoing progress of the Just and Inclusive Transformation Project.
Muhammad Mohsen, Chairman of the Steering Committee and Director General of the Department of Regional and Local Development, emphasized the meeting’s goal to review previous decisions and highlight significant achievements. These achievements include the establishment of model housing units in Anbar and Nineveh governorates and the development of the green building project, which aims to integrate sustainable development principles into residential neighborhoods.
Mohsen underscored the importance of providing suitable housing to ensure stability, creating job opportunities for citizens, and offering housing units for people with special needs within residential complexes.
