Baghdad: The Ministry of Planning continues its oversight tours to monitor the procedures for establishing non-governmental consulting offices in Baghdad. A specialized committee from the Legal Department at the Ministry of Planning conducted an on-site inspection today of the consulting office of the Iraqi Chemists Syndicate in the capital, Baghdad, to verify the extent to which it meets the requirements and conditions approved for practicing consulting activity in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a press release that the inspection included auditing the office’s basic data, verifying the legal documents and deeds related to the property’s occupancy, and reviewing the infrastructure, technical, and administrative equipment, and their compliance with the approved conditions and standards, in accordance with the provisions of the Consulting Offices Law No. (16) of 2000.

The statement clarified that the inspection is part of the procedures followed to complete the requirements for establishing and renewing operating licenses for non-governmental consulting offices. These procedures include providing detailed information about the office and its manager, and precisely defining the areas of expertise, thus enhancing transparency and ensuring adherence to Instructions and Regulations No. (1) of 2021.

The Ministry concluded its statement by affirming the continuation of its oversight tours of consulting offices, as part of its commitment to ensuring compliance with the approved legal, technical, and administrative regulations and requirements. This contributes to organizing the consulting work environment, improving the quality of services provided, and strengthening the level of trust in consulting firms.
