Ministry of Planning Explores Enhancements for Iraqi Development Management System


Baghdad: The Ministry of Planning held a meeting on Monday to discuss mechanisms for activating and developing the Iraqi Development Management System (IDMS), which focuses on investment projects and government programs. The meeting saw the participation of the Director General of the Sectoral Planning Department, Engineer Basim Dhari, and the Director General of the Government Investment Programs Department, Tahseen Mahmoud Muthanna.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed the challenges and obstacles affecting the system’s operation, especially those related to technical issues and data input mechanisms from various sectoral entities, including ministries, non-ministerial bodies, and governorates. Discussions also delved into the operation of the IDMS, its activation and development mechanisms, the responsibilities of relevant departments, and the completion and input of all data and information into the system to enable interaction with sectoral entities and spending units.



The Iraqi Development Management System (IDMS) is a comprehensive electronic application adopted by the Ministry of Planning. It aims to monitor and manage investment projects and government programs, enhancing transparency and accountability while facilitating project listing and monitoring their technical and financial progress across various governorates and sectors.



The meeting also included assistant directors general, heads of departments and divisions, and several employees from the Sector Planning and Government Investment Programs departments.
