Baghdad: The General Company for the Management of Private Transport and the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the Kurdistan Region have engaged in discussions to unify the vehicle registration cards and the electronic manifest system across Iraq's central, southern, and northern governorates.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ahmed Al-Moussawi, Director General of the General Company for the Management of Private Transport, traveled to the Kurdistan Region to meet with Ano Jawhar, the regional Minister of Transport and Communications. They deliberated on the implementation of vehicle movement systems between the federal and regional garages. This initiative aims to unify vehicle registration cards and the electronic manifest system, as previously approved by the Council of Ministers, to facilitate data exchange and regulate transport operations through unified procedures.

The statement highlighted that both parties stressed the importance of implementing these measures shortly. This collaboration is expected to enhance institutional integration between the federal and regional governments, address unregulated transportation issues, eliminate unfair transportation practices, and optimize financial resources for the General Company for Private Transportation Management. This initiative aligns with the government's direction to develop the transportation sector and improve citizen services.
