Karbala: The Ministry of Water Resources has begun implementing its plan for the Arba’een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), in coordination with the National Center for Water Resources Management, to secure the water needs of the holy city of Karbala throughout the pilgrimage period.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the plan includes increasing water releases towards Karbala to ensure sufficient water supplies for operating water treatment plants and stations at full capacity, as well as meeting the service needs associated with the pilgrimage.

These measures were preceded by proactive work carried out by the ministry’s departments in the province, including preparing, maintaining, and cleaning rivers and streams, in addition to deploying specialized equipment at river intersections, regulators, and critical locations to ensure the rapid resolution of any potential bottlenecks and maintain the smooth flow of water.

As part of supporting the service plan, the Ministry’s mechanized support effort, consisting of water tankers, has arrived to ensure the supply of water to the processions along the pilgrims’ routes. This enhances the level of services provided to millions of pilgrims and embodies the integrated government efforts to ensure the success of the Arba’een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
