Mosul Mayor Removes Illegal Street in Al-Nahda Neighborhood

Mosul: The mayor of Mosul, Hisham al-Hashemi, confirmed the removal of an illegally constructed street in the Al-Nahda neighborhood that had been used to subdivide state-owned land and sell it to citizens through unlawful means.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hashemi emphasized that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to curb encroachments on government lands and protect state property. He stated that the relevant authorities would continue to monitor areas experiencing such violations and take legal action against the perpetrators.

The mayor also urged citizens to verify the legal status of properties and land before purchasing them and to avoid dealing with plots being sold outside official and legal channels to prevent falling victim to illegal sales. He reiterated that the Mosul mayoralty is continuing its field campaigns to remove encroachments, regulate areas, and protect the rights of the state and its citizens.
