Baghdad: A parliamentary complaint has been filed with the Media and Communications Commission against a local television channel. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Media and Communications Commission received an official complaint from the Parliamentary Integrity Committee to take legal action against Al-Fallujah satellite channel. The complaint seeks to suspend the channel's broadcasts across all licensed media outlets.
The issue arose after the channel described the martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces as "dead," while referring to the dead mercenaries of the Saudi forces in Yemen as "martyrs." This description has prompted the Parliamentary Integrity Committee to call for immediate legal action against the channel, highlighting the sensitivity and potential impact of such terminology on public sentiment and national unity.
