Mosul Municipality Announces Coordination with Security Forces to Tackle Encroachments

Mosul: The mayor of Mosul has announced new initiatives aimed at enhancing municipal and security coordination to address encroachments and protect public property in the city. This effort is part of a broader strategy to ensure proper urban development and maintain public assets.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mosul Municipality Director Mohammed Al-Agha stated that the municipality has begun working closely with security leaders to support campaigns focused on removing encroachments on public property. This move comes in the wake of the Nineveh Provincial Council's recent decision to permit construction on the outskirts of Mosul, as long as it complies with legal regulations.

Al-Agha emphasized that the recent decision does not apply to encroachments on public property, streets, or services. He underlined the municipality's commitment to continuing campaigns to eliminate violations and enforce legal actions against those who breach the law. These efforts aim to safeguard public lands and facilities from illegal construction activities that could obstruct future service projects.

The director also mentioned that municipal teams are actively collaborating with relevant authorities to ensure orderly urban expansion while safeguarding the rights of both the state and its citizens. This coordination is seen as a crucial step in maintaining the city's infrastructure and promoting sustainable development.
