Baghdad: Member of Parliament Mohammed Al-Shammari affirmed on Sunday the Parliament's full support for the Ministry of Electricity's plans to address the country's energy crisis. "The committee hosted the Minister of Electricity, in the presence of several MPs from various political blocs, to discuss the plans developed by the Ministry to address the current electricity crisis and alleviate the burden on citizens," Al-Shammari told the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Shammari added that "the Minister of Electricity reviewed, during the meeting, the significant accumulated problems the Ministry has been suffering from for years, in addition to the shortcomings of the previously adopted plans."
"Parliament informed the Minister of its full support for the Ministry, whether through submitting the necessary legislation or providing financial allocations within the budget, as well as supporting all proposed plans and solutions," he explained.
He highlighted that "the plans prepared by the ministry to improve the electricity situation are promising and good," stressing that "if the agreements concluded with the American and Iranian sides are implemented, these plans will contribute, tangibly, to saving citizens and overcoming the energy crisis."
