Hanoi:MPs from various blocs have threatened to withhold their votes on the general budget bill unless the official currency exchange rate is restored to its previous level.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, dozens of MPs gathered this Thursday afternoon in the courtyard of the Parliament building. This gathering followed the forced postponement of the session that was scheduled to host the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank.

The MPs’ demand for the restoration of the exchange rate is a significant condition they have set for passing the budget law.
