Baghdad: Members of various parliamentary blocs and committees have expressed their support for the government’s initiatives aimed at combating corruption, fortifying national sovereignty, and enhancing engagement with the international community. They urged all political factions to consolidate their efforts, place national interests above all, and collaborate towards establishing a resilient, stable, and secure state that meets the citizens’ aspirations for security, prosperity, and justice.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, MP Mustafa Abdul-Hadi, during a joint press conference on Tuesday, commended the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the United States. This visit was part of efforts to strengthen Iraq’s foreign relations and engage with the international community in a manner that benefits the Republic of Iraq’s higher interests and safeguards its sovereignty.

Abdul-Hadi highlighted the significance of adhering to the agreement on ending the American military presence on Iraqi soil within the agreed timeline, with the withdrawal scheduled to culminate on September 30 of this year. He emphasized that this move would bolster national sovereignty and demonstrate the Iraqi state’s commitment to independently managing its security and sovereign affairs.
