Najaf: Najaf International Airport announced a significant increase in the number of flights and passengers coinciding with the escalating pace of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, confirming that it has received more than 94,000 passengers since the beginning of the month of Safar.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Ammar Al-Tufaili, the media director of Najaf International Airport, stated in a special statement that the number of flights through the airport during the period from the first to the sixteenth of Safar amounted to 637 flights.
He added that the number of passengers arriving through the airport reached 94,080 passengers, while the number of departing passengers reached 64,212 passengers, indicating that these figures reflect the large increase in air traffic coinciding with the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
He noted that the airport administration is continuing its efforts to facilitate procedures for receiving visitors and the smooth flow of travel, in line with the increase in the number of flights and passengers during the pilgrimage season.
