Najaf: The Najaf Environment Directorate has issued warnings to several car wash and lubrication stations for failing to obtain necessary environmental approvals, in accordance with the Environmental Protection and Improvement Law No. (27) of 2009.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Jamal Abdul Zaid Shalaka, Director of the Najaf Environment Directorate, stated in a press release that the warned parties are required to contact the directorate within ten days of notification to rectify the violations. Failure to comply will result in legal action against them.

Shalaka explained that these violations were uncovered during a field inspection conducted by the technical monitoring teams. He emphasized the directorate’s ongoing efforts and commitment to monitoring activities and projects to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This initiative is part of a broader goal to protect the environment, safeguard public health, and regulate projects in line with applicable laws and instructions.
