Baghdad: The National Intelligence Service Agency revealed the arrest of a significant ISIS financing network. This announcement marks a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the financial infrastructure supporting the terrorist organization.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation follows a specialized mission conducted in 2023 in Kirkuk Governorate. This mission targeted a network affiliated with ISIS, responsible for funding the group’s cells. The recent arrests were executed across several West African countries, following extensive monitoring of movements and communication lines. These activities were aimed at bolstering ISIS’s financial resources and planning terrorist attacks targeting European countries and Iraqi interests abroad.

The National Intelligence Service reiterated its commitment to pursuing the remnants of ISIS and thwarting schemes that threaten Iraq’s national security.
